Off to Guatemala!!! (for a visit)

There hasn't been any updates about the status of our adoption hence the lack of postings on our blog. But there is one bit of exciting news to share with everyone--I am going to visit Cristina Elizabeth tomorrow! I had been just toying with the idea but never seriously considered going on a visit trip until one day about 2 weeks ago, I was reading on one of my Yahoo Groups about a mom from Minnesota who is also adopting from Guatemala and was looking for someone to go with her and share the cost of the hotel. So I e-mailed her and discussed the option of going and next thing we knew it we had booked our flights to go see our babies! Phil unfortunately isn't able to go but my sister Linda will be joining Sarah and me on Saturday. I have so many feelings right now--excitement, nervousness, fear, stress. As we have mentioned before, adoption isn't ever 100% guaranteed so we need all the prayers possible so that this adoption is completed and we can bring her home real soon! I will try to post everyday when I'm in Guatemala City. If that's not possible, please be assured that I will update when I get back on Wednesday. I will be able to take tons of pictures of Cristina Elizabeth because I will be allowed to take her from the orphanage and spend the 4 days with her at our hotel. I'm excited to see the orphanage where she is living and meet the kind people that have been taking real good care of her.
