I received a call from Michelle on Thursday telling us that Cristina's DNA results were faxed to her and they were a match!! The results came back quicker than we expected!! Michelle told us it would be 2 weeks from when the authorization was given. So that should've been Tuesday, June 19th. The DNA test was drawn on Thursday, June 7th and received a week later.
Not that we had any doubts that they would be a match but this is a major milestone! The birth mother is given four opportunities to change her mind about giving up her baby and at DNA testing she is given a 3rd chance and thank the Lord, she has not changed her mind! Also, now that we have the DNA results, this gives us "permission" to go visit her if we choose. We are still not sure if we will, though, because it would be so heart-breaking to see her, play with her, etc. and know we have to leave her behind and have to wait another 4 months to return to Guatemala and bring her home.
